The Historic Hermosa Hotel has been serving guests of the island as far back as 1896 and, as was the style then, our rooms are small and simple. No fancy amenities, but many of our rooms now have air conditioning and heat. We continue to offer clean rooms at Avalon’s best prices, allowing people who budget carefully to enjoy all the fun that Catalina Island has to offer. Please note that our historic property does not have an elevator and most of our rooms have some number of stairs to climb. The Hermosa Hotel property has two main areas; the Catalina Cottages, which include our family units, and the historic hotel building; both areas and room type are explained below.

CATALINA COTTAGES
Quaint, charming studio-style cottages that each have private bathroom and cable TV. The following descriptions will help you decide which of the room types are perfect for your vacation.
PREFERRED COTTAGES
There are two styles of Preferred cottages. Both have AC/heat units, private bathrooms and cable TV.
Kitchen Cottages are located in our adorable cottages area and include a complete kitchen (sink, refrigerator, stovetop, microwave, coffee maker and all the utensils, etc) with a small sitting area to allow your group the option of preparing meals at "home" so you can save on the cost of eating out!

Landing Cottages are on the third floor landing of our hotel building (remember, no elevators!), and include larger tiled showers, flat-screen TV, a microwave and mini-fridge. |

STANDARD ROOMS/COTTAGES
Located in our adorable cottages area as well as in our hotel building, all Standards have cable TV, private bathroom and one or two beds. Most of our Standard rooms/cottages now have mini-fridges and some now have AC/heating units!

FAMILY UNIT with KITCHEN
The perfect way to accommodate the whole family or your group of friends. Family units have complete kitchen (sink, refrigerator, stove/oven, coffee maker, microwave and all the utensils, etc) with a small sitting area, private bathroom and cable TV.
Some have small balconies and private bedrooms, while others are a larger version of a cottage with more beds. Each has four or more beds and can accommodate groups of up to six or eight persons. Popular with families and group celebrations, these typically book quickly so advance reservations are strongly encouraged. |

COMBO ROOMS
Combo Rooms are located on the second and third floors of our historic hotel building. With three or four beds, two TVs and an adjoining bathroom between them, these are like getting two rooms for one.
For those on an extreme budget, inquire about booking half of a Combo Room (yes, you'll share the connecting bathroom with your immediate neighbor, but you'll still have privacy and can't beat the price!).
